Admissions to St Luke’s

Children may be admitted at the beginning of the term following their third birthday at the earliest. They may remain at the school until the end of school year in which they have their eleventh birthday.

North Lincolnshire local authority (LA) is the admissions authority. Normally, children have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) completed after formal assessment. Exceptionally, a child may be admitted to the school when the process of formal assessment has not yet been completed, but it must be agreed by all relevant parties that the child requires a place.

Requests for a place at the school for a particular child are made by the LA’s SEN team. Requests for a place cannot be made directly to St. Luke’s Primary School by individual professionals or parents.

The SEN Team can be contacted by:

Email: [email protected]
Telephone: 01724 297148
Post:   Special Educational Needs Team , People Directorate, Hewson House , PO Box 35, Station Road, Brigg, North Lincolnshire. DN20 8XJ
Online: North Lincolnshire Council | The Local Offer - North Lincolnshire Council (northlincs.gov.uk)

Professionals or parents who feel that a child may need a place in a special school are encouraged to visit to find out more about the school, its pupils, its organisation and the opportunities and services it provides. Agreement to a request to visit must not be taken as an indication that the child will be admitted to the school.

When the SEN team formally requests a place at the school, a teacher from the school will visit the child’s school or nursery or playgroup to gain more information. An information-sharing meeting with the child’s parents will also be arranged.
