St Luke’s School Council

Representatives for our school council are from our Key Stage 2, each class nominate one person. New councillors are nominated every year in September.

The school council meet at least every month. They share ideas and issues that are important to them and their class peers.  They have a say in what happens around school.  They attend meetings with the headteacher, school leadership team and governors. The school councillors also visit Key Stage One classes to listen to and find out what is important to the children there with the help of the teachers.

During previous years the school council have been part of the interview process for new employees for the school, taken part in fund raising activities and helped in a range of important jobs around school.

Our school council aims to improve every year with how they are an important part of school life and have an impact on decisions which affect children and the environment, the children who take part never cease to amaze me, it always brings out the best in them and I am proud to be part of it.  I am very excited about the year ahead and what our new school councillors are going to be working on.
The school council is supported by Mrs Teresa Humberstone and Mrs Leanne Adams.
