General Approach

Our Curriculum is designed to meet the individual needs of the children at our school. We value Communication as a key focus in school and in life and this is embedded across the school. Children will begin in our EYFS class where the key principles are to build routines also model and lead learning through child initiated play.

In the mornings the majority of children follow a more structured timetable of English and Maths lessons. These lessons are differentiated by ability.  In the afternoons, in their class teams, the children focus their learning on developing their key skills for life.
Throughout the day there is a focus on providing children with continuous provision in the classrooms. This enables learning to be embedded and skills to be practised according to the needs of the individual.

We run specialist morning classes for our children with profound and multiple learning disabilities and for children with severe communication and interaction disabilities. These groups are small and focused on developing individualised timetables, and meeting the individual communication and cognition needs of those children.
A number of children in school access weekly Hydrotherapy, Rebound and Sensory sessions and we work closely with Health professionals to ensure all the needs of our children are met.
